Variety Ladies Lunch – helping kids in need!

Skye, aged 2 years, has a rare chromosomal anomaly and profound hypotonia with micrognathia dysmporphic features. She also suffers from gastroesophageal reflux, is fed via a PEG, and has hearing impairments. Thanks to the generous supporters from the Variety Ladies Lunch, hosted by Julie Vines from Sotheby’s International Realty, Variety – the Children’s Charity were able to present Skye with an essential piece of equipment to help her get mobile and also fund costly hydrotherapy sessions with a physiotherapist which would otherwise be out of reach.

The next development milestone Skye will be working hard to reach is crawling. Thanks to the fundraising from this event, beautiful little Skye was presented with an aid to support her to develop the skills and motions she needs to get herself mobile. (Photo attached)

A Message From Vanessa, Skye’s Mum.

Owen and I would sincerely like to thank Variety and Sotheby's for their generous support and for all their hard work in organising a wonderful event. The genuine interest in Skye's wellbeing and the donations towards her care were truly overwhelming.

The funds donated towards Skye's hydrotherapy has been a huge help; giving her access to facilities that would not have been easily obtained otherwise - and the crawling frame, kindly donated by your team is not only beginning to strengthen her core but has started giving her a sense of mobility and independence; which is an absolute joy to see.

We feel so lucky to have met all of the hard workers at Variety and Sotheby's and we will continue to update you on Skye's progress over the coming months.
