Gold Coast Bulletin - 'Ashmore home blows its own price record out of the water'

AN Ashmore home that holds the record for the highest house price sale in the suburb has just obliterated its own benchmark.
The property at 25 Bellara Street sold for $4.3 million, after the owners paid $3.75 million for it just 18 months earlier, pocketing a profit of $550,000.
The buyers are a family who recently relocated from Melbourne, who trumped a Sydney buyer after putting in a successful bid.
It is a landmark sale for the central suburb located slightly inland of Surfers Paradise and where the median house price is a more modest $726,000.
However, you do get a lot of bang for your buck with this property.
The Hamptons-style home has been architecturally designed, with six bedrooms and six bathrooms all set on an expansive 2.246sq m block in a prestigious street.
High-end finishes can be found throughout the home, including a custom-made kitchen, with a butler’s pantry and a neolith stone island bench as its centrepiece.
A marble fireplace and 4.2m ceilings add further wow-factor to the home’s open-plan living spaces.
The marble theme continues in the ensuite of the master bedroom, which has a kitchenette and raked ceilings. Elsewhere, a wet bar, 200-bottle wine cellar and cinema room ensure there is plenty of options for entertaining.
A large saltwater pool overlooking a beach volleyball court can provide hours of summer fun, while its pontoon and main river position is perfect for those who enjoy being on the water.
There is garaging for six cars and the entire property is surrounded by leafy palms and vegetation which makes it extremely private, yet still gives glimpses of hinterland views.
The property also comes with a self-contained two-bedroom apartment with raked ceilings, large living spaces, a designer kitchen, fireplace and private courtyard.
Marketing agents Maria and Isaac Genc of Sothebys International Realty Queensland said the buyers fell in love with the substantial size and location of the home.
“They were looking for something that wasn’t cookie-cutter Gold Coast standard. This home is really special – the finishes are top notch and the floor plan is really unique,” Ms Genc said.
“A plot of land that big on main river with such a substantial home on it is really hard to come by.
“The family has older children so the way it is designed with a separate, almost full second home, where the children can come and go suited them perfectly.”
The reluctant sellers are expats who were living in Hong Kong but moved to the Coast before Covid hit. They now need to relocate for work once more.
As Ashmore becomes the Coast’s next suburb hotspot, the record set by 25 Bellara Street may be short-lived with several agents peddling the mansion owned by Culture Kings streetwear co-founder and Queensland rich-lister Tah-nee Beard.
Mrs Beard put the main river home at 46 Reed Street on the market after making a $15.25 million purchase of the penthouse in the Soul building in the heart of Surfers Paradise.
Her Ashmore home is rumoured to be on the verge of a sale after agents revealed they had received several written offers for close to asking price which at $5 million would trump the sale in Bellara Street.
